The Pine Grove Area Education Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) Corporation and contributions are tax deductible. Contributions can be sent to: P.O.Box 98, Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 or contact any Director of the Pine Grove Area Education Foundation directly.

Educational Improvement Tax Credit

Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) funds are provided by the Foundation to the Pine Grove Area School District (PGASD) to fund pre-approved educational programming that support’s the education of Pine Grove Area students.

In Fiscal Year 2007-2008, $27,900 in tax credit funds were utilized by the District to support the purchase of mobile computer labs in the Pine Grove Area Middle School. The computer labs are part of the District’s focus on building ‘classrooms for the future’ and will enable middle school students to greatly improve their technology and learning skills. 

The amount of EITC funds for fiscal year 2008-2009 was $23,000. This money was used by the school district for the following :

18 Netbook laptops with headphones, Microsoft 2007, Norton Antivirus, Office XP at $8, 557
1 Netbook Mobile Cart at $1, 646
5 Promethian Boards - interactive white boards at $5, 500
5 Projector Mounts at $645
5 Wireless Projectors at $5, 375
Wiring for 5 classrooms in middle school at $1, 000

Making an EITC Contribution

Businesses authorized to do business in Pennsylvania may be eligible to receive tax credits equal to 75% of its contribution up to a maximum of $300,000. If a business agrees to donate the same amount for two consecutive years the credit can be increased to 90% of the contribution.
